At the inaugural African Air Transport Conference in Lomé, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, announced that the country’s Aircraft Leasing Company will offer tax holidays to improve air travel accessibility across Africa. This initiative aims to lower operational costs for airlines, thereby reducing ticket prices for passengers. Keyamo emphasized the importance of making air transportation more affordable, stating, "This will make travel possible for millions of Africans who previously found it out of reach."
The move comes amidst a growing need for enhanced connectivity within the continent, as many African nations seek to bolster their economies through improved aviation infrastructure.
