As Eid ul-Adha approaches, Nigeria's Minister of Works, David Umahi, has taken decisive action to facilitate travel by ordering the immediate opening of all completed sections of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Road. This directive to Infiouest Nigeria Limited comes as a strategic move to alleviate congestion and enhance mobility during the festive period, which is marked by increased travel across the nation.
The Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Road project has faced delays and criticism over its slow progress, impacting economic activities and access in the region. Umahi emphasized the importance of ensuring smooth transit for citizens, stating, “We must prioritize the movement of our people during this festive period, and our contractors must work diligently to meet this need.”
