In a significant move toward empowering young women in technology, Tech4Dev has successfully trained 135 schoolgirls from 27 public secondary schools in Lagos during its inaugural AI Inter-District Secondary School Challenge. This initiative aims to bridge the gender gap in STEM fields by providing practical skills in artificial intelligence and fostering innovative thinking among participants.

Throughout the program, students developed unique AI-driven solutions addressing local challenges, showcasing their projects at a recent event. "We believe that equipping these girls with AI skills is not just about technology; it's about creating future leaders in our society," said Dr. Amina Bello, Executive Director of Tech4Dev. This initiative underscores a growing recognition of the importance of inclusive education in driving economic development and technological advancement in Nigeria.

Looking ahead, Tech4Dev’s efforts could serve as a model for similar programs across Africa, potentially transforming the landscape for women in tech. As more girls gain access to AI education, they may not only enhance their career prospects but also contribute to a more equitable and innovative future for the continent.
