The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has initiated a vital sensitisation campaign in Ebonyi State, targeting the communities of Umuhuali, Ezillo, and Nkalagu. This effort comes in response to a troubling increase in vandalism and unauthorized construction around power installations, which threaten the stability of the region's electricity supply.

As part of the campaign, TCN officials engaged local leaders and residents to raise awareness about the importance of protecting power infrastructure. "Our communities must understand that these installations are crucial for their development and well-being," emphasized Chijioke Nwogu, TCN's Regional Manager. The outreach aims to foster a sense of ownership and responsibility among residents, hoping to curb future acts of vandalism.

Looking ahead, the success of TCN's campaign could serve as a model for similar initiatives across Nigeria, particularly in regions facing infrastructure challenges. By building stronger community ties and emphasizing shared responsibility, TCN may not only enhance the security of its installations but also contribute to broader efforts in stabilizing Nigeria's power sector.
