The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP) has urged the Federal Government to enforce National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) regulations that clearly define the responsibilities of polytechnic staff. This call comes amid growing concerns over the usurpation of roles within polytechnic institutions, leading to inefficiencies and dissatisfaction among staff.
The NBTE has long emphasized the need for structured duties to enhance operational effectiveness, yet implementation remains inconsistent. SSANIP's President, Mohammed Ibrahim, stated, “Without proper delineation of responsibilities, we risk undermining the quality of education and the welfare of our members.” This highlights the urgent need for the government to address these systemic issues to foster a conducive academic environment.
