Shell has appointed Elohor Aiboni, the former Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited, as the new Country Chair for its Nigerian operations, succeeding the outgoing Country Chair, Osagie Okunbor. This transition marks a significant shift in leadership as Aiboni steps into a role critical for navigating the complexities of Nigeria's oil and gas sector.

With over 20 years of experience within Shell, Aiboni brings a wealth of knowledge about the local market and the challenges it faces, including regulatory hurdles and community engagement. “Elohor's extensive experience and understanding of our operations in Nigeria will be crucial as we continue to prioritize sustainability and local partnerships,” said Wael Sawan, Shell’s Chief Executive Officer.

As Shell adapts to a rapidly changing energy landscape, Aiboni's leadership is expected to focus on enhancing operational efficiency while adhering to environmental standards. The appointment signals Shell’s commitment to local leadership in a market that is increasingly pivotal to its strategy in Africa. Stakeholders will be closely watching how Aiboni leverages his expertise to drive growth and sustainability in Nigeria's energy sector.
