In a significant move to bolster Nigeria's engineering capabilities, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has announced a partnership with FIDIC Africa to launch a training initiative aimed at enhancing skills for the delivery of mega projects. This collaboration comes at a time when infrastructure development is critical for Nigeria’s economic growth, with large-scale projects often facing delays and budget overruns.

The training program will focus on best practices and innovative methods for managing complex engineering projects, addressing a pressing need in the industry. NSE President, Engineer Babagana Mohammed, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “This training will empower our engineers with the necessary tools and knowledge to ensure successful project execution in Nigeria and beyond.”

As Nigeria seeks to improve its infrastructure and attract foreign investment, this training initiative could serve as a pivotal step in equipping engineers with the skills required for successful project delivery. Looking ahead, the collaboration between NSE and FIDIC Africa may set a precedent for similar partnerships across the continent, fostering a new era of excellence in engineering practices in Africa.
