The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has stepped up to meet the demands of the upcoming Sallah holiday by adding more train trips on the bustling Lagos-Ibadan route. Scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, the NRC will operate six additional trips, aimed at easing travel for the numerous passengers expected to migrate for the festive period.

This move comes in response to the high volume of travelers during major holidays, when road traffic often becomes congested. The Lagos-Ibadan rail corridor has been a crucial transport link since its recent upgrades, providing a reliable alternative to road travel. NRC Managing Director, Fidet Okhiria, noted, "We are committed to enhancing passenger convenience and safety, especially during peak travel times."

As the Sallah holiday approaches, the increased train services not only underscore the NRC's commitment to improving transportation infrastructure but also reflect a growing demand for rail travel in Nigeria. With these enhancements, the NRC aims to bolster its reputation as a safe and efficient mode of transport, setting a precedent for future holiday travel planning.
