The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has granted waivers to former All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, Omo-Agege and Ochei, allowing them to contest in the upcoming Delta Senate races. This strategic move follows their recent defection to the NDC, signaling a potential shift in the political landscape of Delta State.
Omo-Agege, previously the Deputy Senate President, and Ochei, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, bring significant political clout to the NDC. Their entry into the party could invigorate the NDC's campaign and bolster its chances against APC strongholds. "We are excited to welcome such experienced leaders into our fold. Their vision aligns with our commitment to serving the people of Delta State," stated NDC spokesperson, Chidi Nwosu.
This development marks a critical moment for the NDC as it seeks to consolidate support and challenge the APC's dominance in the region. As both parties gear up for the election, the impact of these defections will be closely monitored, potentially reshaping voter sentiments and party strategies in the months ahead.
