In a significant development, the Northern Christian Association (NCA) has praised the Department of State Services (DSS) for apprehending five suspects connected to the November 2025 abduction of students and staff from St. Mary’s Catholic School. This incident shocked the community and highlighted the ongoing issue of school kidnappings in Nigeria, which have become alarmingly frequent and have affected the educational landscape.

The DSS, under the leadership of Director General Oluwatosin Ajayi, has intensified its efforts to combat such security threats, reflecting a commitment to restoring safety in schools. NCA President Rev. Joseph Okeke stated, “We commend the DSS for their swift action; this is a step in the right direction towards ensuring that our schools are safe havens for learning.”

As the investigation unfolds, it raises hopes for more arrests and the potential dismantling of networks behind these heinous crimes. The NCA's support signals a united front against insecurity, emphasizing the need for ongoing collaboration between government agencies and local communities to foster a safer environment for education across Nigeria.
