As Nigeria grapples with a burgeoning crisis of drug abuse among its youth, the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has taken proactive steps by training 130 guidance counsellors from government secondary schools in Lagos. This initiative, launched on World Drug Day, aims to equip educators with the necessary tools to address the alarming rise in substance use among teenagers.

Statistics indicate that drug abuse is on the rise in Nigeria, with a significant percentage of adolescents reportedly using substances like cannabis and prescription drugs. By empowering school counsellors, MFM seeks to create a robust support network within educational institutions that can identify and assist at-risk students. "Our goal is to provide these counsellors with the knowledge and strategies to combat substance abuse effectively," stated Pastor Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer of MFM.

With these efforts, there is hope that early intervention will mitigate the long-term impacts of drug abuse on youth. As more organizations recognize the need for comprehensive drug education and prevention strategies, the fight against this growing menace in Nigeria may gain momentum, fostering healthier futures for the nation's adolescents.
