In the first half of 2026, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State recorded 36 domestic violence cases, highlighting a growing concern for gender-based violence in the region. The cases reported included various forms of gender-related offences, with the NSCDC emphasizing the importance of raising awareness and providing support services. “We are committed to ensuring the safety of every individual in Kwara State,” stated Kunle Afolabi, the State Commandant of NSCDC.
