INGENTIA Energies has taken a significant step in enhancing community relations by inaugurating the PML 66 Host Community Development Trust (HCDT) board, emphasizing a commitment to transparency in its operations. This initiative aligns with the broader objectives of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), which mandates the establishment of community development trusts to ensure that local populations benefit from petroleum activities.
At the event, Kingsley Ehiaguina, the assistant director of Host Community Development and Affairs at the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), highlighted the progress made under the PIA. “We have incorporated 163 host community development trusts, committing billions of naira to uplift our communities,” he noted, underscoring the government's focus on fostering sustainable development.
