In anticipation of the Eid-El-Kabir festivities, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has mobilized 950 personnel across Kwara State to ensure road safety and traffic management. This initiative, running from May 25 to May 31, 2026, includes 16 patrol vehicles, four ambulances, and a robust 70-tonne tow truck, reflecting the agency's commitment to enhancing safety during peak travel periods.

The decision comes amid rising concerns over road safety during major holidays, which often see an increase in vehicular traffic and potential accidents. The FRSC has historically ramped up its operations during such times, recognizing that effective management can save lives. "Our primary goal is to ensure that all travelers reach their destinations safely and without incident," stated the Kwara State Sector Commander, Olusola Aremu.

As the Eid celebrations approach, the FRSC's proactive measures highlight the need for heightened vigilance on the roads. With the combination of increased personnel and equipment, the agency aims to set a precedent for safety that could influence road management strategies for future festive seasons. The success of this initiative could pave the way for similar operations nationwide.
