In a significant move to boost agribusiness among Nigerian youth, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has partnered with the Federal Government and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) to launch the National Youth in Agribusiness Land Trust Fund. This initiative aims to enhance land access and provide financing options for young agripreneurs, addressing critical barriers in the agricultural sector.

Historically, access to land and funding has hindered youth participation in agriculture, despite its potential to drive economic growth. The partnership seeks to equip young Nigerians with the necessary resources and knowledge for sustainable farming practices, ultimately fostering innovation and productivity in the sector. "This fund is a game-changer for our youth, offering them the tools to transform their agricultural ambitions into reality," said Dr. Nneka Okafor, Head of Agribusiness at FCMB.

Looking ahead, this collaboration represents a pivotal step towards empowering the next generation of farmers in Nigeria. By prioritizing youth in agribusiness, the initiative not only promises to revitalize the agricultural landscape but also aims to secure food security and economic resilience in the face of climate change challenges.
