The Enugu State Government has launched a series of ambitious infrastructure and tourism projects aimed at revitalizing the region and boosting economic growth. Among the key initiatives is the approval of the 10.5 km Igogoro-Amachara-Ikpamodo-Okpo-Amaada road project, which is expected to enhance connectivity. Additionally, the government plans to construct 1,000 housing units at Enugu Smart City and 18,000 mass housing units at Gateway Estate, addressing the pressing need for affordable housing.
A significant highlight is the development of the Ovu Lake Golf Resort at Akpawfu, which aims to attract tourists and promote leisure activities. Furthermore, plans for a cable car system with platforms at Okpatu, Awhum, and Awgu are set to improve local tourism infrastructure. "These projects will not only create jobs but also position Enugu State as a prime destination for investment," stated Chijioke Edeoga, the Commissioner for Infrastructure.
