As Dubai seeks to rejuvenate its tourism sector, the government has introduced an enticing initiative encouraging residents to invite friends and family to the emirate. From July 20 to October 31, residents can earn benefits exceeding AED 3,000 ($816) through hotel stays, dining experiences, and attraction tickets for their guests. This strategy not only bolsters local hospitality businesses but also aims to enhance the overall visitor experience in a post-pandemic landscape.
The decision comes as Dubai aims to recover from the pandemic's economic impact, which severely affected its tourism-dependent economy. By incentivizing residents to act as informal ambassadors, the government hopes to leverage community ties to attract international visitors. "This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering a vibrant tourism ecosystem while supporting our residents," stated Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment.
