In a proactive effort to combat drug abuse among youth, an Imo State advocacy group, alongside the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigerian Navy, held a sensitization program for students in Ogbaku. This initiative comes amid rising concerns about the prevalence of drug-related issues among Nigerian adolescents, which pose significant risks to their health and future prospects.
The event aimed to educate students on the dangers of substance abuse while also offering career development insights. Participants engaged in discussions about the importance of making informed choices regarding their health and futures. "We must empower our youth with knowledge about the consequences of drug abuse and the opportunities available to them," stated Dr. Chika Okoro, a representative from the advocacy group.
