In a significant move to bolster Nigeria's defense capabilities, DICON Gray Insignia Ltd has unveiled an indigenous shotgun platform aimed at addressing the country’s growing security challenges. This initiative is expected to enhance local defense manufacturing and training, providing essential tools for the Civilian Joint Task Forces (CJTFs), forest guards, and vigilante groups engaged in combating insecurity.

The new platform reflects a strategic partnership between the Defense Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) and Gray Insignia, targeting the urgent need for self-reliance in defense. Stakeholders believe this is a crucial step in empowering local communities to play a proactive role in their security. "This indigenous solution will not only equip our security personnel but also stimulate local economies through manufacturing,” stated Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure, Director General of DICON.

Looking ahead, the introduction of such locally produced defense equipment could significantly reduce reliance on foreign imports and encourage broader participation from various sectors in Nigeria's security landscape. As local production ramps up, it may pave the way for innovations that align with the unique challenges faced by the nation.
