Dettol Nigeria, in collaboration with the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, has launched Phase 3 of the Dettol Hygiene Quest, aiming to reach over 800,000 beneficiaries this year. This initiative seeks to enhance public awareness of hygiene practices and combat health issues exacerbated by poor sanitation. Since its inception, the campaign has grown significantly, reflecting the increasing need for hygiene education in Nigeria.
Mary Nnah, a representative from Dettol Nigeria, emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “Our mission is to empower communities through education and access to hygiene resources, ultimately reducing preventable diseases.” This phase will expand on previous efforts by providing essential hygiene kits and conducting workshops across various communities.
As Nigeria faces ongoing health challenges, the Dettol Hygiene Quest stands as a crucial intervention. By targeting vulnerable populations and fostering a culture of hygiene, the initiative not only addresses immediate health concerns but also lays the groundwork for long-term behavioral change. The collaboration between Dettol and the Wellbeing Foundation highlights a growing recognition of the role that hygiene plays in public health, setting a positive precedent for similar initiatives across the continent.
