The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set the stage for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), announcing that the tournament will run from June 19 to July 17, 2027, across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. This marks the first time these three nations will co-host the prestigious event, underscoring CAF's commitment to promoting football in East Africa.

The qualifiers for AFCON 2027 are also scheduled, with matches expected to kick off in early 2026, giving national teams ample time to prepare and strategize. This year's tournament will not only enhance regional cooperation but also boost tourism and local economies in the host countries. “We are excited to welcome nations from across Africa and showcase the rich culture and hospitality of our region,” said Nick Mwendwa, President of the Football Kenya Federation.

As excitement builds, stakeholders anticipate that the tournament will serve as a platform for emerging talents and a catalyst for further investment in African football infrastructure. The successful execution of AFCON 2027 could pave the way for future events in the region, solidifying East Africa’s role in the continental football landscape.
