In a significant move to enhance electricity distribution in Nasarawa State, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced a collaboration with Nasarawa Electricity Distribution Limited (NAEDL) to distribute approximately 35,000 metres. This initiative, as articulated by AEDC Managing Director Engr Chijioke Okwukenye, aims to improve service delivery and address the persistent challenges of power supply in the region.

The collaboration comes at a time when many Nigerian states grapple with inadequate electricity infrastructure. By deploying these metres, AEDC and NAEDL are not only seeking to optimize electricity consumption but also to promote transparency in billing, thereby potentially reducing cases of meter tampering and energy theft. Okwukenye emphasized, "This partnership is a testament to our commitment to providing reliable electricity and ensuring that consumers pay for what they use."

Looking ahead, this distribution initiative could mark a turning point for energy access in Nasarawa, laying the groundwork for future investments in electricity infrastructure across Nigeria. As stakeholders watch closely, the success of this project may serve as a model for similar collaborations in other regions, ultimately contributing to the nation’s energy stability.
