In a significant step towards improving energy access, the Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has successfully completed 23 solar mini-grid projects. This initiative is set to benefit approximately 50,000 Nigerians, particularly in rural areas, by providing much-needed electricity and stimulating local economies.
These mini-grids are part of a broader strategy to enhance energy infrastructure across Nigeria, where millions still lack reliable power.
